DEATHTOLL OF AMBON RIOT CONTINUES TO RISE TO 12

Ambon, Apr 25 (ANTARA) - The deathtoll of Ambon riot, following a class between supporters of the separatist South Maluku Republic (RMS) and those claimed themselve as supporters of unitary republic of Indonesia, continued to rise to 12.

A breaking news of the RCTV TV Station in Jakarta on Sunday evening put the deathtoll at 12, while information from the local police in Ambon said the number of victims killed only reached 10.

Earlier at the outset of the riot breakout, Antara Ambon reported the number killed in the class stood at five with the injured at 40 during the increasing tension in Maluku province`s capital of Ambon in connection with the 54th anniversary of the separatist South Maluku Republic (RMS) on Sunday.
